HEY, I'M OLIVIA
Before we start working together, let's get acquainted. My name is Liv and I am obsessed with all things business, marketing, and female empowerment. But my journey to She Blooms actually began back when I was 17.
A TRIP OF A LIFETIME
I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to spend two months in the beautiful country of Zambia, Africa. I worked with a team filming a documentary on various Aids Orphan Rescue Units. While in Zambia, I encountered the worst poverty imaginable, but even more heartbreaking, I witnessed first-hand how poverty and injustice discriminates against women. Girls no more than 12 years of age forced to marry older men, children having children of their own, young girls unable to go to school because they have to stay home to watch their younger siblings while their parents work. This was just the tip of the iceberg. Overcome with emotion, a passion for female equality ignited inside of me.
JUST A DREAM
Fast forward a decade later, I would find myself working in corporate marketing. Marketing very quickly became a passion of mine and I found myself quickly climbing the corporate ladder. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have worked for large, medium, and start up corporations developing marketing strategies and growing brands. From here, another dream blossomed, to run my own marketing agency. But it was always just a dream...
INSPIRED BY COVID-19
In 2020, I was returning to work from my first maternity leave just as the world shut down from the COVID-19 pandemic. I suddenly found myself without daycare, having to work full time from home, take care of busy one year old, while pregnant with baby number two. During this time, many important women in my life were successful entrepreneurs whose businesses and livelihoods were severely affected by the global shut down. I discovered that:
“Women occupy a high percentage of positions in education, office support, social services and personal care, which are more likely to be suspended, laid off or forced to work reduced hours during the pandemic. PayScale noted that women “are also more likely to have to take time off work, or even resign their positions, in order to care for children who are no longer in school, as well as other family members.”

TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY
It was through my life experiences and witnessing various forms of gender discrimination that I was inspired to launch a business that would be part of the solution. After more than two years of sitting on my business idea but lacking the courage to take the leap, I was finally launched into my business pretty much overnight.

I was on vacation with my family when I got a call that the company I was working for had been sold. It was through this massive life change that I decided now was the time to start She Blooms.
​
My mission is to use my near 10 years of experience and passion for marketing to serve other women and help them grow their brands. My vision is to work with women and empower each other to decrease the gender gaps that we continue to see in the world of business. If I can be a part of just 1 woman’s entrepreneurial journey and help her achieve the success she’s been dreaming of, I consider my business a success.

I'm a proud girl mama to sweet Chloe and Rosie. There is nothing I love more than being a mom.

I married my college sweetheart after we met at the University of Western Ontario.

It sounds so basic, but my favourite season is Fall. I live for sweater weather.

My favourite combination is peanut butter and chocolate.

I make a REALLY yummy turmeric latte.
​
​
I grew up in love with music. I am a classically trained vocalist and pianist. I was also a total theatre nerd and the stage was where I felt most at home.
